Trip To Nogales

Miriam Davidson’s book, Lives on the Line: Dispatches from the U.S. - Mexico border, describes to us the happenings of Ambos, Nogales, and though it was published approximately 20 years ago the book depicts events that took place years prior.  She does so by relaying to us the stories of individuals that live in this border town.  In this way, she both places us, the reader, in the shoes of migrants and border folk and depicts the corruption, lack of resources, and crimes against humanity that occur along the US/Mexican border.  Our trip to Nogales, Mexico did this exact same thing for us, placed us in the heart of the issues, and we were able to interact with the very people who are the subject of the current national discussion.
